All right this fuzzy and underexposed and all. The reason is that one of the charming young lady you see here, Vika (on this picture, the dark haired one), a provodnitsa on the making, very much wanted to have a party with all the French, German and Polish travellers in the train. After stopping at our compartment to say hello and few French words, she introduces us to Laurence and Nicolas, on a trip to Mongolia and Tibet, then to a couple of Polish (Paulina, the blonde haired girl on this pic, and Pavel) and a German girl, Bettina. Then a Russian (drunk) guy introduces himself to us and here we are, ten of us in a kupe for four people, plus the vodka. Later in the afternoon/evening/night we migrate to the next wagon where we meet more foreign tourists and more vodka. We’ll have plenty of time on the day after to worry about the consequences of excessive vodka consumption. Vika will also keep our russian conversation guide as a souvenir. Although this is certainly touching, Vika, this guide would have been helpful to us for the rest of the trip…
